The Income Cliff Has Been Removed!!!

November 18, 2021

The income cliff has been raised to 80% of the Area Median Income, or $66,880. This means I can start looking for work again. My complaint was that they put me into an apartment that would be 30% of my income if I made about $72,000, but that they would kick me out of the program if I made more than $32,200, which would likely put me back into the shelter system. This stupidity is fixed. This does not mean I’m willing to take any old shit job, but it does mean I can start applying again without fear of being punished for trying to do better for myself.

The next step is to pass good cause eviction.

Oh with a job though. How long has your job hunt been again?

    • I had a writing gig this year for a book that just got published and will get me a royalty. Before that I had an editing gig from September to December 2018. I stopped looking after I got the apartment because of the income cliff.
